Chapter Thirteen (Anders)

“I said leave her!” I shouted at Thane, “You know what she is?” after I had processed how many problems she would create if she lived. No matter how I felt, it wouldn't make a difference. She would still die.

“An injured wolf who needs help!” Thane argued as her sleeping body fell limp in his arms, unwillingly causing panic to rise inside me. Alec checked for a pulse. She was still alive.

Did I just give a breath of relief? Why she was born with a death warrant over her head?

"You can't leave her here." Vilkas yelled. "She means something to you. Are you really going to fight your instinct and let her die?"

"You know what will happen. They will find out what she is and expect me to kill her. At least this way it is not by my hand." I argued with him.

"If you do nothing. It will be as if you had executed her." Vilkas stated. Damn wolf had a point.

“Why do you want to bring her, anyway?” Alec asked Thane, curious.

“Whether or not Anders wants to believe it, he’s smitten with her.”
