Chapter Twenty- Five (Isla)

After resting for a bit, we decided it’d be best to get going before our pursuers found us. Daciana carefully sniffed the air to make sure no one was nearby and, not sensing anyone, jumped head-long into the waterfall, diving into the water below.

The water was refreshing, easing the pain in our muscles. Our foot, which had been regenerating while we rested, was feeling better. Not complete yet, but getting there.

We walked out of the water shaking the water from my fur, heading in the same direction as before, towards where Daciana said the town was.

“How long before we get to the village?” I asked Daciana.

“Not sure, just know if we head this way, we will get there eventually.” She paused, “someone’s coming,” turning our head back to where we had come from.

A large black wolf with bright red eyes walked into the clearing. “Oh darn, looks like we are going to die again.” She laughed, saying, “That hunk of wolf is MINE.”

“Come on, we have to go!” I urged as she fought against me
