“Your voice is back to normal,” the doctors said to me as he packed up his things to go.

“Are you sure?” I asked looking in the mirror for any signs of damage. “She really did a number on me when she removed my voice. I couldn’t speak, I thought I was going to die.”

“Well, you are just fine. It was just a hex placed on you but it is a temporary one. No hex they place without using blood is complete and as such lasts from several seconds to several days but not lasting to a week.”

“How do you know so much about witches?” I asked the doctor.

“A friend of mine in the past used to be a witch. He gave me this trick and we used it one day against her.”

“A friend of yours?” I was shocked. “That means you are not from this pack.”

“I never said I was from this pack. But I was from a pack where the demons were kept as subjects to be studied by us wolves. Either way, you are safe my lady.”

He nodded before leaving me alone with my maids.
