The escape.

Ryan came back in, an hour later.

"it's time for your one hour break. come with me."

Ryan had always been loyal to Anne, he always looked out for her. Protecting her with his life, if needed. So she had always trusted him to help handle important matters. they'd both walked out and he took her to some sections.

"what makes his Gene different from others?" She asked, if anything was different, it was the fact that he was too perfect.. She thought. Perhaps, they also thought he was a god.

"when you start studying and working on him, you'd find that out.

You're restricted from going to the building below, he's the only core subject for now, he is your priority. there are just four  doctors in these building, two are in charge of the building below, and are never allowed to come up here, no matter what. While the director is in charge of the other sectors here, making you the fourth. Don't worry, you might never see any of those doctors in the building below, they eat and sleep there.. Just like you do up here ..we brought you in, since you proved to be much more competent, after checking your resume. "

he takes her to a room that was filled with cabinets.

"This is were we stock all documents. but you're only allowed to come here, when you've completed a phase of the research, or documented something important. you would have to report to me first, before being allowed to come here. secondly, this file cabinets are divided into two sections. the left are for those who are below the building. and the right, for those here.. on no account, should you touch, or take any files on the left. that is the director's jurisdiction. you get a one hour break, each."

"and at 6pm, you go back to the guest quarters. Before leaving, you have to fully sedate him. you are the only one staying at the guest room. this entire building is under 24hour surveillance. but once it's 6pm , the lights goes off, and so does the surveillance, then we switch to the backup gen. it takes approximately 15 minutes to get the backup power on. you leave the room to your apartment once the light is fully back on. make sure to get him sedated before 6. A guard would take over.. never forget to sedate him. it's the basics."

he takes out Lucas's file.. and gives it to her

"Lucas Forsythe.. that's his name?"

" Yes. we need to leave now, so you'd meet the director. your one hour break is almost over." He said.

As they were about to leave, she casted a final glance at the restricted cabinet, and saw a file cabinet with the name Freya Forsythe. They left the room, and went for Anne's office.

Ryan tugged the door of Anne's office open, he went inside first, shutting the door behind him.

"Director, she's here. " Ryan said.

" ohh let her in." She got up from her work desk, moving towards the couch, she sat.

He opened the door, and Olivia came in

Anne motioned her hands towards a couch in the room, smiling slightly,

" come have a sit. Wait outside Ryan."

He nodded and made his way out of the room.

Olivia sat down on the couch next to Anne's computer Desk. And she saw a painting of Mona Lisa.

surprised, she asked,

"is that Real?"

"No, it's not. That's a Copy, not the Original.. I had to get one cuz It holds a lot of meaning."

" I never thought you enjoyed Paintings."

Anne never liked paintings, in fact, she never liked anything except her work, except juicing out every single strand of Lucas's DNA until it yielded  results.

She laughed a little, "I don't. Just took an inkling to this one, because i think it represents persistency, took the painter several years to achieve that painting, which turned out great. So, I draw strength from it. I don't know what meaning it holds to the painter or to other people, but to me, it represents that."

" I Just Still do not understand why you are Experimenting on a Human. It still doesn't make sense to me, I thought you of all people should understand  better, not to breach the code of conduct regarding our profession. I know being a bio- geneticist we have to dig deeper into understanding how most things work but, when I saw him, I felt he was being locked up against his will, and keeping him that sedated is harmful. Too much could kill him."

"4 years ago, I Saw a brilliant bio-geneticist, I saw potential in her, I knew she could help me achieve a lot. It's been so long, and I think you've changed."

" I've not, you would have known better if you had tried to meet with me, at least once, you always sent Ryan, I saw you As A mentor, My Role model, when he came to me the first time, telling me you sent him to me, I was so excited, I begged him to let me see you, but you refused to, you  only called. I was so happy when Ryan told me I would be meeting you, and we would be working on a project together, I never knew it was going to be done on people against their will."

She felt sad, she had always wanted to follow Anne's footsteps, but, she never expected her to experiment on humans, she knew Anne was Ambitious, but,  never thought she would go this far.

"have you tried to check his reports? Do you even know why I keep saying he is unique? Have you tried to check the past experiments we've done?"

Anne asked. Of course Olivia would wonder why she was doing this, but sooner, she'd let her know.. But now was'nt the time, what she needed now was for her to do as she's told.

"no, i've not. I need you to give me a valuable reason to proceed with this experiment."

Anne chuckled, "You think Lucas is Human? If only you knew what he is , you would not even want to step a feet into that room ever again. You Might not understand why I'm doing this, but, very soon, you will. I have to do this. Until I figure out how to make proper use of his gene, without anymore complications, He's never going to see the daylights!." She scowled.

"if he isn't Human, then What is he? A beast? A demon? A monster? All I see tied down is a normal human being, suffering, in pain, and-"

Anne looked at Olivia with a hint of anger in her voice, " Enough! You know nothing. You know nothing about this world you live in , there are demons, monsters, witches, whatever you thought were fairy tales, they exist. You want to know what Lucas is? LYCAN! Lucas is a Lycan, is that enough to make you proceed with the experiment?."

"L-l-lycantrophy , Lucas is a w-werewolf?!, I-I thought those weren't real?!" She asked, surprised and horrified by Anne's words.. She knew Lycantrophy was only a myth, well, she thought it was, but, Lucas couldn't be one..

Anne smiled, "they are, as real as you and me, but, not to worry, you wouldn't be knowing about that anymore, at least, for now."

"What do you mean? "

" look at me" she said with a voice so persuasive, Olivia couldn't resist her command. It felt like she was been entranced.

She looked at Anne, deep in the eyes.

you would go straight back to work, forget I ever told you about lycans, - well, for now, you would only focus on work, no more questions. Okay?. (Anne's eyes glowed)

She sighed. Compelling Olivia was never part of the plan, but she knew she had to erase them from Olivia's mind, she couldn't find out about that yet, even though she would probably find out eventually, once she starts the experiments on him.

Olivia instantly forgot ever knowing Anne told her Lucas was a Lycan.

" okay.. I would go back to work."

" and if you feel you need a reason to proceed with this experiment, I'll be sure to provide you with one. I'll make you see things from my own point of view, no matter how long it takes.." She added.

Olivia left Anne's office, and Ryan took her back to her room.
