CHAPTER SIXTEEN

“How’s she coping?” Lucas asked the moment Dolph walked into his study later that day.

“I can say better, she ate a lot on my command and took the drugs the doctor left behind. She should be lively and ready to serve the king tomorrow.” Dolph replied and sat down.

“Great news,” Lucas said without looking up.

He was busy going through some documents concerning a few contracts they had made with neighboring packs and he didn’t like what he was seeing.

“Lucas, I have one question,” Dolph said.

“Does it involve Riley? If it does, I don’t know the answer.” He said and pushed a document toward Dolph. “There, look at those documents, what do you think?”

When it came to business, Dolph was way smarter than Lucas, so most times Lucas relied on him to take care of the pack’s businesses. Dolph knew he had the upper hand here and an imperious smile crossed his lips.

“I’m not looking at it until you hear my question and then see if you can answer it or not.” He said and pushed the documents back
