Missing His Mate

The rays of sunlight shone through the window and Diego who had been sleeping peacefully on the bed jolted up.

His eyes were troubled and his breath was heavy. Slowly, his hand crept onto his chest as he felt a sharp pain in his heart.

"Hmmm..." He groaned, with his eyes shut. His body shook and he felt like countless needles were piercing his skin.

"What's wrong?" He asked himself and stood up to his feet.

His eyes looked out of the window and he had an inkling of what was going on.

Slowly, he walked toward the window, however, the pain in his heart had not diminished in the slightest.

There was nothing that caused him pain and he didn't want to believe the thought in his head.

"Do you know what's wrong, Wolfie?" He asked his wolf. However, he only received a groan.

It turned out that Diego's wolf could also feel pain.

"My mate!" His wolf said, after some time. They both longed for their mate and Diego realized that he was feeling Emma's pain.
