Chapter 34

Mia's POV

I really didn't want Lorenzo to kill the man so I had to intervene. "Don't kill him!" I screamed, rushing forward and standing between Lorenzo and the man who was cowering with fear on the floor.

Lorenzo regarded me with an icy expression before he spoke. "And why shouldn't I kill him?" he asked coldly. "He has spread the story of a false rumor about you and you expect me to let him go? I can't and I won't! That is final and don't question me on it," he concluded.

"Please, Lorenzo. Don't kill him. He only did it because of money. And if you look at it very well, he doesn't know who the woman is no matter what you do to him. So please, just spare him. Let him go. We should focus all our attention into looking for this phantom woman," I pleaded, giving him an innocent wide eyed look so that he could accept my pleas.

His face was still stone hard, bearing no trace of an emotion on it so I couldn't guage his reaction to my words. I didn't have an inkling of what he was thinking.
