Chapter 36

Mia’s pov

“I-” I began to speak but trailed off after a few moments. His stare was so intense and unnerving, it made me feel extremely uneasy.

A few moments passed and when I didn’t attempt to speak again, I watched as he let out a loud scoff and a shake of his head.

Thinking he had already dropped it, I let out a long exhale, right before he began to inch towards me.

My eyes widened and I tried to still hold the eye contact, but once he took another step closer, I hastily averted my gaze and took a step backwards.

“Did I say you could look away?” His voice echoed around me almost immediately and once again, I found myself forcing myself to stare up into his face. My heart was pounding harshly against the side of my chest and I have a feeling he can currently hear it, from how loud it was echoing in my ears.
