Chapter 39

Mia’s pov

The word ‘humiliation’ has never applied to me in my entire life like it does to me right now.

I wasn’t sure I'd ever want to actually disappear from the face of the earth like I really want to at this very moment.

I watched through wide eyes as Lorenzo exited the kitchen without sparing me another look, and shame so intensely engulfed me. My heart was still racing and it didn’t seem like it was going to slow down any moment from now.

I glanced down at my cloth, wrinkling my nose at the dirt all over it. My eyes wandered around the kitchen and I let out a long sigh after a few seconds, knowing that I was going to clean up all the mess I had made by mess.

Without wasting much time, I decided to get to work, because I know damn well that Lorenzo was going to flip should he come down here once again to realize that I left the kitchen the way it currently is.
