It was in the middle of the night when Annah woke up. Glancing at the wall clock, she realized that it was just a little after midnight but still, she couldn't sleep and this worried her because she usually wasn't like this. There was something on her mind and it was on the issue of Fred and she didn't know what to do about it.

Ever since they had somewhat gotten their life back, Connor hadn't mentioned the issue and she was dying to know what he thought about it. She never expected Fred to do something like that but thinking about it now, she realized how sly and very deceptive he had been and she was a fool to have believed that he had her best interest at heart.

"Is this a pay back for me not going out with him?" she murmured.

She didn't know where all of this was heading and what Fred had in mind but if there was one thing she knew, it was that she needed to get to the bottom of this before it was too late and she needed to know what Connor had in mind.
