Chapter 90

It was later at night that Connor finally woke up after what seemed like hours of sleep. He sighed, glancing at the clock and he realized that it was just heading towards midnight. The cupcakes they had eaten were on the table which remained, the last one they had been too tired to eat. Connor smiled at the memory and he loved it because this was the first time they had talked wholeheartedly without any grudge or fights or arguments and he was grateful for that.

He looked down at Annah sleeping beside him and he couldn't believe how peaceful she was. There was this serenity around her that he loved and with her, he found the peace he thought he would never find. There was just so much about her that he loved and he knew that never again will he try to offend her and talk bad about her. She had gone through a lot already and the last thing he wanted to do was to give her additional stress. Connor kissed the top of her head, an act of care and love that she knew she deserved.
