Chapter 78: Bullet

Silence filled them after the gunshot. Margarette felt her whole body go pale as she felt cold. Terror hit her heart as memories came rushing back to her mind.

She couldn't move.

"Hey, are you okay?" Mary asked in concern as she held Margarette on the shoulder. But Margarette jerked away like a terrified cat. Mary immediately apologised. "I'm so sorry."

"W-What's going on?" she asked nervously.

Mary smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry about it. It's probably just men practising once again. It often happens here, not a big deal."

"No, no, I need to see my daughter," she said in panic. Her mind was closing its own mind to hear other people's opinions. Her instinct kicks in and her motherly reflex tells her to go get her child.

Margarette got up like crazy and ran into the house. Her tears rolled down his face as she climbed. She met some maids who were looking at her curiously but she paid them no mind.
