Chapter 8

They started their engine and left at a moderate speed, leaving the butler behind. As they were driving on the road, Vicky moved closer to Aurora, who was looking ahead, and informed her, "We can't drive freely on this busy road. Let's go to Magnolia Corporation where we can drive at high speed to our heart's content."

Magnolia is a fairly large corporation that is particularly based in motorcycle racing. Every year, international racers always come here to represent the country. Their race tracks are the best. Sometimes, children of the rich come either to bet on motor races or to race with their friends. Considering the space it takes, we can only find it at the outskirts of country M.

Since both girls were in the middle of town, it took them 40 minutes to arrive at the racing track because there was no traffic jam. On their way, they stopped at a gas station to refuel their motorcycle. When they set foot at the race track, they were so amazed by the various tracks that their blood was boiling with excitement.

After a moment of taking in the track, they had to choose which one to use: either the paved one or the rocky path. After much consideration, Vicky proposed to choose the rocky path, to which Aurora agreed. They then drove their motorcycles to the starting point, but they were not alone. A group of five men were standing not far away from them with their bikes. They were dressed in different colored leather motorcycle outfits: green, orange, brown, navy-blue, red, and yellow. Their motorcycles all corresponded to their colorful outfits.

While discussing and laughing with his friends, the green one was the first to notice the girls with their bikes not far from them. He signaled his friends about them, and they all stopped. The green one approached the girls followed by his friends. As all the men neared them, both Aurora and Vicky took their time to observe them. Compared to all of them, the green one appeared to be more handsome. Compared to his friends, who are rather average in terms of looks, he had luxurious blond hair, a pair of green eyes, a pointed nose, and well-defined cheekbones.

He walked towards them with a smile, giving off a feeling of a benevolent and approachable person. Vicky leaned towards Aurora on the side to whisper, “Look at the green one, isn’t he handsome?” Her voice was that of a girl already charmed, causing Aurora to facepalm. This week she had already had a crush on two men, but came back to crush her fantasies. “Then I will tell you not to get too close,” she said. Her voice was low but serious, making her friend let out a disappointed sigh, but she couldn't just leave it be.

The man in question arrived and stopped right in front of Vicky since she was the nearest to the group. Vicky removed her white helmet, revealing her face and letting her hair fall. She placed the helmet on the back and extended her hand for greetings, to which the man happily accepted. “My name is Vicky, and hers is Aurora,” she said while pointing at the girl in black. Her voice was jovial, and the man spoke, “Mine is Sky, and those behind me are my friends.” The men behind all smiled and waved their hands, except the man in red, who appeared disgruntled and angry, leaning on his red bike.

Sky looked at the girl in black for a brief instance and then returned his attention back to Vicky. "As I can see, you came for a race, but are you sure you both want to use the rocky track?" he asked, his voice laced with worry. Vicky nodded, "My friends and I are going to have a race there. Do you and your friend mind joining us?" he asked again, this time with visible excitement in his voice. Vicky turned to Aurora for her answer, to which the latter didn't refuse.

Aurora gave her approval to join, and like that, they walked towards Sky's friends, who all had no qualms except for the red one. The red one did not look at it favorably, seeing that they were girls. "Why do you want girls to join a race? If they have an accident, we will have to take care of them," he said in a ridiculed tone.

The race was fierce; the racers were rushing at an alarming speed, and everywhere they passed, the dust rose. Due to the afterimage they left, it made it difficult for anyone to differentiate which competitor was first or last. For now, green, black, and white were struggling for the first place, followed by brown, red, yellow, orange, and navy-blue.

The red, being embarrassed by the fact that some girls were outperforming him in a simple race, made him red with jealousy. He had to admit that they were better than him. He found the path rather rough, which made him not speed too much. However, both girls were able to speed as if it was a normal road. "I have to do something; I can’t let them win," was what he thought.

As he was still plotting, in the front, Aurora leaned towards Victoria on her right and whispered something before reducing her speed, while Vicky and Sky continued the race. When Aurora was no longer in sight, Sky asked, “Why is she reducing her speed?” His eyes still fixed at the front, Vicky just shrugged and answered, “She didn’t feel like racing again, she found it boring and decided to quit it,” her voice loud enough for him to hear.

This incited a chuckle from Sky. “You speak as if she could finish this race, while she is giving me the impression of using that excuse as a reason for not being able to continue because she is scared,” he said with a doubting tone. This statement of his made Vicky let out a hearty laugh before answering, “If Aurora wanted, she could continue and win. She was just enjoying herself, and felt bored, and now am I.” With that said, she sped off, leaving Sky behind.
