"Goodbye Mack."
"Melody, I love you." Mack said.
Liam pulled the trigger. Liam had shot Mack in the heart and in the head. Liam unchained Mack and his body collapsed to the floor.
I wanted to scream and yell at him. He'd swore he wouldn't kill Mack. And yet he did. I can’t believe I fell for that! I know a liar when I see them. I guess I’m not good at seeing that like I used to.
He looked at me and could see the hatred that was all over my face. He walked towards me and ripped the duct tape off my mouth quickly.
"Ow!" I shouted. I want to cry at this point. Mack was gone and he said that others had been killed. He's going to torture me more at this point. I'd rather die than have to see anymore of this. I don’t want to go through this kinda pain again.
I felt the hand of the person holding my face let go. But this time he covered my mouth with his hand instead.
"I can see how mad you are. I know I lied but, I'm part of a mafia which isn't an excuse for anything. But I usually don't like to keep certain promises." He paused looking at my left arm. The bandage on my left arm was now soaked with a lot of blood. At this point it was probably now dry blood...well hopefully. He looked back at me, "You can ask me whatever you want but, if you talk back or even scream at me so help me I will make sure your life becomes miserable...understand?"
He isn't doing that already?
I shook my head and immediately felt the hand move of my mouth. He untied me from my spot and I stood up faster than I should've. I got dizzy and quickly had to sit back down. After a moment though I stood up and pushed Liam with my shoulder and I slowly walked to Mack. I kneeled down near his body and grabbed his hand.
"Mack, I'm sorry for this. I hope that you are at peace now." I mumbled. I placed his arms on his chest and closed his eyes. I felt a tear fall down and I quickly wiped it away. I won't let them see me weak. They won’t get the satisfaction of seeing me weak.
I don't even know what to say. I want to know a lot about what's going on. But I knew that the more I know the less likely I'd be able to leave...alive. I stood up again and walked to a different side of the room and sat there.
"You said my parents were part of a mafia...is that true?" I asked. I didn't want to know the answer but, if this is true then he must have a type of hatred for my family. And not because they were a different mafia. I can see it all over his face. The way he can only look at me for a few minutes and can't look me directly in the eye.
"Yes it's quite true. In fact, they are the strongest mafia in America. My mafia is getting there but they keep taking things that don't belong to them."
Well right now I'm here and I don't belong to him. What a hypocrite.
"What did they do to you to make you this angry?" The words came out quickly. I'm regretting asking that question already.
"That's not your concern." He mumbled.
With every inch of strength I had I stood up and walked towards him till I was close enough to him for me to make his eardrums hurt. "Of course it is! You kidnapped me and took me away from my life! I sure as hell have a reason to know what they did! They are after all my parents! And if you think for one second that I believe in all of this crap, you sure as hell are crazy! Oh and you're a hypocrite, you talk about taking things that don't belong to them, guess what I don't belong to you!" I shouted. I had just broken one of his requests. I yelled at him. I have every right to be angry.
Right?
No I absolutely do. He's a psychopath and a serial killer.
His face was turning bright red. He reached for my arm and I tried dogging him, but he still got a hold of my arm. He started squeezing my arm and dragged me to the other side of the room. I'm doing everything I can not to cry out in pain right now. He was right on the deep cut on my left arm.
He pulled out my phone and started handing it to me. But before I could grab my phone he pulled out a gun.
"Call your parents." He demanded.
"Why should I?" I asked. Liam opened his mouth but I spat out, "I'm not done talking." I snapped. Holy crap I'm sounding like a parent, "I shouldn't help you, you just killed my friend!" I glanced looking at Mack. I looked back at Liam, "And don't give me that mafia crap. You did it just to prove a point right?"
He didn't say anything. He looked away from my gaze giving me my answer.
"That's what I thought."
"You done?" Liam asked.
"Yes."
"Yes I did it to prove a point to you! And listen to me very closely. I can ruin your life. I can take the life of anyone you've ever cared about or met for that matter."
"Would that include you?" I mumbled. I heard Charlie chuckle at my comment. I felt my face start to sting even more. He had either punched me or slapped me. I glared at him and started clenching my fists.
"Maybe I'll start with your best friend Thea." Liam warned me. He continued like I hadn't said anything.
"You wouldn't dare."
"Trust me...I would." Liam smirked. I snatched the phone from him. He put his gun away and once again grabbed my arm.
"Don't say anything stupid." He once again warned me. I rolled my eyes at him. He just glared at me. I started calling my mom. It didn't even get to the second ring before she picked up.
"Melody?! Is that you sweetheart." My mom asked. I could tell that she had been crying. Liam yanked the phone and put it on speaker.
"Yes it's me mom." I don't know how long I've been here but it was nice to hear her voice again.
"Where are you?" My father asked. They had also put me on speakerphone. My fathers voice was deep while my mothers was not deep but not a high pitch sound either. It was a soothing voice.
I looked at Liam and he gave me a look that sent shivers down my spine.
"I...I can't say." I stuttered.
"Why not?" My father asked. I looked back up at Liam and he mouthed no.
"I can't say that either dad."
"Melody, you need to tell me something!" My father yelled.
"Dad I can't!" I shouted back.
"Why the hell not?!" My mother yelled. My mom rarely cussed and when she did all hell broke loose. Which is somewhat interesting since she's apparently part of a mafia.
"I can't..." before I could finish I had my mouth covered and was dragged back to the chair. I could see Liam put us on mute so that my parents couldn't hear us...obviously. He removed his hand off my mouth and I glared at both of them.
"What are you doing!" I shouted.
I can hear my parents freaking out and shouting out my name.
Liam gave Charlie a look and walked behind me holding my shoulders in place. Liam walked over and had two zip ties and put my arms on the sides of the chair and pulled on the plastic a lot harder than he needed to.
"You didn't need to pull on them so tightly."I mumbled. He rolled his eyes and pulled out the duct tape. Before I could even protest he put the tape on my mouth.
"There...so much better."
----
I had walked away from Melody and unmuted her parents. Charlie walked away so he wouldn't be seen when I called them. I hit the facetime button and turned it towards Melody. Once they accepted the facetime call I saw her mother start sobbing more into her husband's shoulder.
"Whoever you are, you're gonna pay for this!"
I turned the camera so it would face me. I saw her parents' facial expressions turn from fear to complete hatred.
"Liam." He growled.
"Hi Miles and hi Luna. Not great to see either of you but, as you can see I have your daughter oh I also forgot!" I once more turned the camera around so it was facing Mack. Their faces started turning even more red.
I looked towards Melody and saw that she was having a hard time seeing the dead body. I felt bad for having her watch me kill him. But I can't have emotions. Especially for a girl. I quickly looked away from her and I turned the camera around again to face me.
"So I tortured him to get information from him but apparently he didn't know anything so I killed him." I shrugged. "Oh also if I find you anywhere close to me, I'll kill her and make sure you never find your daughter again." I threatened.
"What do you want from us Liam!" Luna yelled through her tears. I almost felt bad. Actually wait no I don't. They did this to themselves. Yes I may have kidnapped Melody and killed Mack but we're not gonna talk about that.
"I want you to suffer! You killed my father and my mother!" I shouted at them. I looked at Melody and saw her eyes go wide and I can tell she was having a harder time hearing me say that her parents killed mine.
"And I told you before we didn't kill them! We were trying to..." before he could even finish I hung up the phone and dropped it on the floor. I stomped on it, breaking it into thousands of pieces.
Did I hear that right? They might have killed Liam's parents? How is that possible! They're boring old people who have no life! All they do is work. This is all just an intense dream of some sorts. This isn't real, I can't be the daughter of the two of the most powerful people that own a mafia in freaking New York City!"Get her something to eat and drink, and clean up her wounds. They look gross." Liam said, nodding towards my arms and legs.Charlie quickly ripped the duct tape off and without even thinking I said, "You guys owe me a phone."Charlie chuckled, "Yeah that's not gonna happen."We sat in silence while Charlie went and grabbed bandages, alcohol, you name what doctors use he grabbed it. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Like trained to do."You used to be a doctor.""I was.""Let me guess you decided to join the mafia." I sarcastically said."I did." Charlie responded ignoring my sarcasm. "You should stop with the sass, it's gonna get you into a lot more pain."
It's been an hour since I sent Charlie to go grab the tray from her and put it back in the kitchen. I told him we had other stuff to discuss when he was done. Somethings not right. Wait didn't he cut...oh shit.I raced towards the basement and unlocked the door to see Charlie tied up and knocked out on the floor. I looked around to see the knives missing. Charlie's weapons were missing and so was Melody.I'm gonna kill that girl.I untied Charlie and I went to go get some water and made sure it was freezing cold. I had men check the house to see if she was still here and others to see if anything was missing.Once I came downstairs I dumped the thing of water on Charlie and he shot up. He looked around to see he was on the floor and Melody was missing."Hi pal." I said throwing the bucket to the side.Charlie quickly stood up, "Liam listen, she caught me by surprise. Maybe she's not far. I was only out for ten minutes or so?""Try an hour."Charlie's eyes went big, "Ah shit.""Yeah, n
She flipping hung up on me! Is she crazy?! Thea’s got no idea who she just let in her house. I can’t tell her who they are. They’d probably kill her if she knew what Mack knew. That’s half the reason Liam killed him. After ten minutes, I sat in the car waiting for Thea to call the number back. Nothing. Another five minutes went by before I got a call.“THEA!” I felt like a piece of the world was just lifted off my shoulders. “I’m so glad that you’re okay.”“I’m glad she’s okay too... for now.”The voice wasn’t Thea’s. This voice was deeper, angry. He got to Thea before me. Before I could save her from him. “Damn you Liam.”“Hey now, I told you I can take the lives of anyone you care for or have ever met. I even told you I’d go after Thea first.”“Where is she?” I asked.“On her couch, fast asleep. Did you know she loves her brandy? She has an entire shelf just for that. It even has a sticker that says ‘don’t touch my brandy!’ I don’t know why, brandy’s disgusting. She should try bourb
We've been driving for about an hour and a half before getting back to Liam's mansion. I never really looked at it before. Well, I never had the chance to.It was hard to tell what the color of his home looked like since we were driving into their massive driveway and they had tinted windows. The mansion seemed more like a castle. There was a fountain of some sort and a few balconies at some of the windows. There was a tower-like thing that reminded me of the tower from Tangled. To the left was where the garage. I'd stolen the ugly car from over there. And to the right seemed to be a garden with a pool in the back. The house was just massive. It was a cream-like color. His driveway was way too long. You don't need a massive driveway. Just enough to get your car into the garage. They even had a gate surrounding the entire house.Once the car came to a complete stop. I quickly opened my side of the door and quickly closed the door, leaning on the car. The three of them quickly got out o
Unknown POVThey argued like a goddamn couple. I can't let him have her. She's mine and I will protect her from him. Even if I have to take her where no one else can find her.I know that they found out about Melody's past and Tom. I knew she didn't want anyone else to know about him. And especially the things he put her through. They were going to find out about it over time. I might as well give them a little...push.Back then I kept telling myself it was fine. Tom was only trying to make her stronger. Now that he's gone I see how strong he truly made her. But the cost was far too great. But I'll be the one to fix her.But the real question is where is that abusive ex-boyfriend of hers now isn't it? Well let me tell you, he's six feet underground. I put him in that body bag, I killed him in that car accident. I didn't know that Melody was in the car. Luckily she doesn't remember anything about the crash. I can't let her know who I am. Well, at least not yet. And once I have her...I'
"You're right, I did all those things to you but, all I'm trying to do is protect you!" I screamed.Melody looked at me puzzled. I'm even a little puzzled by my words. Protect her? Protect her from what? She was fine at her house, she hadn't had the best life. So, truly, what am I protecting her from?"Protect me? The one thing I really need protection from right now is you! You have no right to say that to me. You're the reason I need protection in the first place!" Melody shouted."That's what I said, yes you're right you do need to be protected from me. But you have no idea what kind of world you now live in, Melody! Mafias..." I started."I do now! Oh, thanks for that, by the way! I was perfectly fine living my life not knowing what was happening around me with my parents and things going on in my house! I didn't ask for any of this, Liam. Not only that, but I don't want anything to do with this lifestyle. And now, thanks to you, I am!""I know that Melody..." "Do you know Liam?"
"Deal." I quickly said. I intended to go shopping for her this week anyway. At least this way, I get something out of it. "We can talk in the kitchen, I thought you might be hungry." She nodded, and we walked towards the kitchen I had Savanna make us some dinner. She made a mean steak and potatoes. We only sat in silence for a few minutes before our food arrived. After we finished eating, I looked at Melody. She seemed to be pondering something. But I want to know what kind of stupid deal I made with her."Talk," I ordered. "Okay, the first year I dated..." Melody stuttered. She was still having a hard time saying his name, I guess. She took a deep breath trying to relax her nerves, "When I dated him, he'd lock me in his room when a few friends came over.""Okay, they probably didn't want them to look at you." I shrugged my shoulders. I mean, I'd do the same thing with certain people. Especially with how beautiful she is. Wait, did I just say that? She shifted in her seat a little
That was just a horrible dream... nothing that night happened. I told Liam a little bit about Tom and went straight to bed.I woke up and tried stretching and getting ready for the day, but I felt my hands not moving, and my legs wouldn't let me stand up.And why is my mouth feeling funny?I looked down and saw my legs and hands tied...again. And the funny feeling on my mouth was none other than duct tape. Why do they have to keep doing that? Haven't they heard of a simple knockout?I started moving my arms and legs, trying to get myself free. I stopped and started screaming as loud as I could, the duct tape muffling the sound. After what felt like hours, I finally stopped and waited for someone to see that I was missing.I have no idea what time it even is. There wasn't a clock in here, the door was closed shut. I started hearing screaming through the house, and it sounded like it echoed throughout the whole house. Like we were in a cave.Suddenly, the doorknob in my room violently
