Chapter 7

Davien's P. O. V

I didn't get much information out of Tyson but I did certainly get a mental picture of who I was dealing with, and in truth, it made me more intrigued than frightened.

I wanted to meet him again. Same went for Ralph.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Oliver asked as he bolted into the room with his vision locked on Gwendolyn. He rested both hands on her shoulders then proceeded to search her for wounds.

"Gwendolyn is fine Oliver, I'm the one who needs immediate attention." I declared while waltzing over to my desk, pulling out a printed file from a drawer.

I tossed it to Oliver, who raised a confused brow as his blue eyes lazily read through it's contents. Gwendolyn who I suspected wanted a distraction from finding her mate started cleaning around the office.

"What the hell is this?" Oliver demanded brandishing the file from side to side, "is this kid really 19 years old?" He went on to ask in an incredulous tone.

"It's all true, which is why I need to meet with him before things backfire and affect our pack. I don't know why I have this unsettling feeling about him." I stroked my chin and sat on my chair, legs wide apart.

"But still, his pack rejected him when he was seventeen...but suddenly retracted the order and instead welcomed him back with the promise to make him heir to their business! And it says here, that Silvia isn't to get a dime of money from the company!" Oliver read out in disbelief.

"Not just that, he was arrested for fraud and theft while he was overseas, it was the Silverfang pack that handled the entire matter. Why they went to such great lengths is still uncertain." Gwendolyn expantiated, letting us understand just how cryptic the situation was.

"He's going to be a thorn in our side if he isn't handled immediately. How did the meeting between you two go? Have you reached a conclusion?" Oliver asked, unaware of the fact that I was stood up by someone, for the first time in my life.

Not that I would admit that.

"It didn't happen, we were both too busy." I said, lying through my teeth like it were nothing.

"Well find time and meet with him, at this point, we're unsure what the outcome will be if he decides to act before we do." Oliver stated with all certainty that this kid was a threat to us.

I scoffed at the idea, sure he was a bit extra, but that was it, not forgetting that the Silverfang pack weren't half as tough as ours. Which was why he could flaunt his fangs like he owned the place.

"Gwendolyn, schedule another appointment with him, and this time make sure he gets the invite." I said sounding a bit forceful at the end. She nodded in affirmation then pulled out her phone from inside her shirt, an act that caused Oliver and I to exchange all knowing glances.

However, the moment she stared into the screen her eyes widened in shock, "Sir, you might want to see this, it's urgent." She announced, rushing over to me, her face so pale it looked like she'd seen a ghost.

Oliver sauntered to my left side while she stood at my right, "it's a video that was uploaded on social media just minutes ago, but it's already trending." She informed me, with her index finger suspended in the air, about to tap play.

"A video?" I echoed, unsure why this should concern me.

"Not just that..." She said and tapped play, we all diverted our attention to her screen and shared in the shock of it's content.

The video in question was of the men from Silverfang pack tearing down the entire company, taking it under siege. All the faces of the perpetrators were blurred and the scenes where my employees were kept hostage was omitted.

"That bastard Tyson!" Oliver hissed and punched the nearest wall in rage leaving a huge dent. Gwendolyn frowned at the curse but was quick to recover from it.

"I don't think it's him, he's stupid but not that stupid." I said, surprising myself that I spoke up for that bonehead.

"True. The person who uploaded the video definitely had another idea in mind, look at the caption they posted." She said, averting our eyes to the caption written in bold lettering.

'MOORE GROUP IN DEBT TO LOAN SHARKS'

I clicked my tongue at the provocative arrangement of letters, Ralph was enraged at the slander and wanted to rip out the throat of the fucker who dared to do this. They were going to pay with their life for daring to drag my family's name into the mud.

Just as I resolved to get my revenge, a message popped up on her screen, from a sender with the initials K.H. The mysterious sender sent her the receipt of a dinner for two at a prestigious hotel. I stole a glance at Gwendolyn who seemed to be surprised at the sender.

"Who is it?" Oliver asked, voicing out my thoughts exactly.

"Kian Saint." She voiced out, staring incredulously at the screen, she immediately tapped on the message allowing us all to read through it together.

'7pm. Come Alone.' it read, more or less giving me a read on his personality.

Though that wasn't what was on my mind, and by just glancing at an angry Oliver, it was clear that he shared my same sentiment. Not only was the time the video leaked and the time the text sent suspicious, but his demand to meet with Gwendolyn alone made us both pissed.

I immediately stared at the time then grinned, there were two hours left till the meeting time, "you don't need to worry about going to see him, because this will be the perfect chance for the both of us to talk." I said and grabbed my checkbook.

"Hopefully it'll be the last time we have to see each other." I told the both of them, who collectively agreed that this kid was behind this little video.

Mate or not, he was going to pay dearly for his childish prank!

*Restaurant*

I arrived at exactly seven pm dressed in a dark blue shirt and jeans, as I walked through the hallway I couldn't help but commend his taste in restaurants. This one in particular was hard to reserve on a fly and yet he had managed to get a VIP table.

The waiter showed me to my table and informed me that my companion had just gone to see the owner and would be back shortly.

I pulled myself a seat and lazily flipped through the menu, wondering why the hell the prestigious owner would want to see that punk.

I waited for almost twenty minutes, before I caught sight of a pair of blue eyes approaching my table, wearing a mean scowl on his face.

No, it was more of a look of disappointed and disapproval.

He rolled his eyes once he arrived at the table and shrugged his shoulders, in his hands was a black file labelled 'X'. I stared at it for two seconds then returned my attention to the imp, dressed in white ripped jeans, a black shirt and a wine red suit jacket hung loosely on his shoulders. His hair was packed into a tight bun and he had on silver earrings that caught my eye.

"I thought I asked your secretary to dinner, it's rude to gay crash." He chided me as soon as he sat his ass down.

"It's rude to ignore an invite, you kept me waiting for hours." I retorted, unsure why I felt the urge not to lose to him in an exchange of words.

He scoffed at me while crossing one leg over the other, "it's not polite to take someone to a club for a meeting, or do you need to be educated on work ethics?" His tone didn't come off as sarcastic or teasing, his blue eyes were stoic as though he seriously meant what he said.

I felt uneasy all of a sudden and immediately opted to change the conversation, but the kid beat me to it.

"It's good you're here, I have something to discuss with you." He said, his gaze fixed on the black file while he spoke.

"As do I." I replied then took a sip of the wine I had ordered to pass the time. While sipping from the wine, I noticed how much more younger he was in comparison to me, the seven year age gap wasn't s joke.

"I'll be going first then." He said in a professional tone as though we were actually having a business meeting.

"Concerning the meager between both companies, I want you to reject the proposal from our company to merge with yours. And then, I want you to also call off the wedding between yourself and my sister. And as for my last request, I want your company to bid for the contract that's about to be awarded to Saint incorporations and I require you to win." The kid demanded with all seriousness in his eyes.

I felt my stomach tie a nervous knot the more I listened to him speak.

"That's absurd! For what reason would I help you and more importantly what exactly are you playing at here?!" I demanded to know, resisting the urge to raise my voice to him.

He reclined into the chair then pulled his lips back as he half smiled deviously. The kid parted his lips and allowed the most sinister words to roll out his tongue.

"I'm going to pull the strings and rekindle the rivalry between both companies. Then... I'm going to completely ruin Saint incorporations and have Silvia kicked out of the company." He declared with stone cold eyes that lacked any form of warmth or affection.
