She stilled, her back tensing.

"C'mon, Jade. Just look at me. I'm serious."

She dropped the plates in the sink, and they cluttered, making a horrible noise. She turned to look at me, wariness and distrust on her face.

She looked at my face properly and her face surprisingly gentled and her gaze softened.

"You don't have to tell me what you don't want to. Whatever it is, if you are not comfortable saying it out loud or telling someone even if it is me, then don't try to force yourself to do so."

I wondered what it meant, her saying what she had just said to me, all of a sudden.

Does this mean she doesn't care any more about me or what I do? Is she giving up on us?

I watched, disturbed and oddly upset by her sudden change of behavior. Despite the tension it caused between us, I wanted her to not say what she was saying. I wanted her to be upset at me for keeping secrets. Why? Because it would mean that she still cared.

My thoughts then made me feel a little bit of disappointment
