“No.” Heath stared at Talen open mouthed. “No.”

“I’m very sorry Heath,” Talen put his hand on his shoulder. “But I am sure that you understand that we cannot let Cameron know until after Trayrock. And how the werewolf ceremony is especially important now. We need to tie our family together in order to provide Cameron with a solid support when the grief hits.”

“Fuck,” Heath’s knees sagged, and he braced a palm on the kitchen bench.

“Heath…” Talen caught his elbow and guided him onto one of the bench seats. “I’m very sorry. This is a shock, I know.”

“Jules was…” Heath was numb with shock. “He was the one good father we had between the three of us. In a way…” He fought for the words. “In a way he was the proof.”
