Chapter 32- The Threat
In the car as Jake drove home, awkwardness reigned. The couple had gotten engaged that afternoon but had just gotten humiliated infront of their friends. Jake could barely breathe. He didn't know what Dohana thought of him at this instant.
'I hope she doesn't find fault with me. I was way-ward just now. I hope she can forgive me,' Jake thought.
Dohana couldn't even look at Jake.
'I'll never forgive him for what he did to me tonight. Just because he's a CEO he thinks he can run on my head anyhow. Do you think this is the kind of wife you will be married to for the rest of your life, right Jake? You have another thing coming. I'll show you who I am. You are not greater than I am. You are my CEO.'
Clearing his throat, Jake decided to test the waters first.<
