Chapter 13

Crane POV

“What’s up with you Crane?” I heard my inner wolf ask as I stared frustratedly at the mirror in my bathroom. I looked pale, i looked like someone who hasn’t slept for days now and it was all because of Amelia’s absence the pack for the past few weeks now.

“Is it our mate again?”

“Who else would keep my mood this way, if not Amelia” I replied, my voice low and sad

“We’ve rejected her, what else are you unhappy about”

I hissed, my inner wolf made things worse for me, I tried as much as possible not to blame myself for rejecting her because it was for her own good.

“Keep that out of my mind, I don’t want to think about it anymore”

My wolf went silent just like I had commanded it to do. Many things didn’t feel right these days, I have turned to something else, some sort of evil wolf. That was how I saw myself at this point.

Everything clasped in my head, hiding secrets, heaving the pain of rejecting Amelia who only did nothing but love me. I was cruel to have not told her the real reason for pushing her away.

“You cannot have her, she’s a member of this pack and I forbid you to ever come here again” I heard a voice from down my room. Was that Elliot’s voice?

I looked down the window and I was amazed of what I was seeing. What was Amelia going here? And who was the man who stood beside her like a protector.

I rushed down to see things clearly, and when I did, the maids scurried away as they had been peeping on whatever that happened outside.

“What’s going on here?” I asked and immediately Amelia and I looked at each other. There was the way she stared at me now it was so different from the way she looks at me in the past.

“I want my friend out of your pack, give Kayla to me.” Amelia said and now I understood what was going on.

“If you want Kayla, she has to be the one to make a decision”

I signaled to one of the gammas to call Kayla to come out here, since she was the reason for the whole conflict. Silence engulfed in our midst and I couldn’t help but dart my eyes from Amelia to the man next to her.

“I’m here alpha” Kayla’s mild voice broke the silence

“Kayla, I’ve come here to take you with me. Remember I promised I’ll come back for you” Amelia said

Kayla walked forward towards Amelia, holding hands with her.

“I’m glad you came back for me Amelia but...” she paused for a moment, wiping a teary eye, Amelia looked at her, waiting for her response which was obviously turning out to be s negative one.

“But I can’t leave, I’ve got to stay here” Kayla finally spoke

Amelia shook her head, disagreeing with what Kayla had said. “I’m not leaving you here Kayla”

“She’s made her choice Amelia, you can leave now” Elliot spoke, his voice fierce, an evidence that he was soon going to explode with anger if Amelia refused to leave. But deep down, I didn’t want her to go just yet. I needed to talk to her.

“If that’s the case, we have to leave Amelia” the man next to Amelia said, his voice unconcerned.

“Kayla, think about it, you can’t keep staying here as an omega. You’re offered nothing here. Come with me”

“Kayla, her back inside” Elliot commanded, Kayla whimpered, trying to go away but Amelia wouldn’t let go of her hands. I felt bad at this point, and I wondered why Kayla has made such decision.

Finally Kayla was released and she rushed back inside.

“I guess we are done here” Elliot asked Amelia the the man

“Of course not, we still have a lot of things to catch up on Elliot and crane” the man next to Amelia said, his voice serious. I couldn’t help but think about what he meant by that. Even Elliot kept mute.

“I do not know what you two have done to my friend but I promise that this is far from over”Amelia said as she walked away, the followed behind, they both entered their car and drove off.

“Do you think they already know about it?” I asked Elliot, he gave me this stern look.

“It would take them forever to find about Amelia’s identity, do not worry” Elliot said as he walked back inside the mansion.

Why did it feel like they knew something already? It’d be a good thing if Amelia knew about her real identity as the only heir to her parents pack but the consequences behind that would be on i and Elliot.
