Richard’s POV:

“Okay Richard, what the hell was that?”

I was surprised to be suddenly confronted like that. I focused on the table, using the same diversion technique I did the last time.

“I don’t understand what you mean Darren.” I said acting oblivious.

The Beta rolled his eyes, “Stop acting oblivious you dumbass, you know what I mean.”

“Is peeking in on people’s conversations your new hobby?” I asked him.

“Oh, stop acting like you don’t know what you’re doing. I heard the way you dismissed her,” he looked a bit annoyed now, and I wondered if he was feeling protective over our new pack member. He must really value her friendship, I thought.

“And how is that your business?”

“It is when-” and here my best friend stopped, muttering beneath his breath, before looking back at me, “Is this your way of hiding your attraction to her?”

Please stop changing perspective, especially in one sentence. It is either the author or the character talking not both in the same sentence.

The writing in this book is awful. Even the characters are the wrong way round in this chapter
