BLOOM

With Grey at my front and Ray at my back, I took down rogue after rogue. My approach? As soon as they got close enough, I slit their necks with the knives in my hand. All the training with Ray wasn’t all for nothing. Those three days of hitting the punching bag, my aim had gotten better, and I was faster.

The rest of the Pack were still fighting for their lives and I couldn’t let it continue that way. I needed to do something.

“Bloom!”

Even as I heard Grey and Ray’s voice screaming out my name, I didn’t stop running. Up the stairs, past the flames, I ran, until I got to my room. Pulling open my drawer, I dumped all the contents out on the floor and started searching with the purpose of finding one thing in particular. Then I saw it. Wolfsbane. I hadn’t told anybody about it, but after being nearly attacked that night, I found a way to start growing it in a hidden area of the garden. Now, it was going to be put to good use. I was going to light it up.

I rushed out of the room
