Chapter 87

Kaden’s POV:

All my senses began to come alive as I slowly gained consciousness. My eyes fluttered open one eyelid at a time and they met the harsh bright light that hung above me and I squinted in pain.

It was obvious I had been unconscious for some time and waking up, I felt the weakness in my body was as a result of lying down on this cold stiff bed for days and probably from all the drugs I had been administered while unconscious.

Squeezing my face, I lifted my weak hands slowly to cover my eyes, still shut to protect them from the blinding lights that shone across the room. My entire body ached and I felt too numb to properly feel a thing or even move. The rest of my senses, not as sharp as before were gradually coming back. I tried sniffing around me to detect my environment and understand my situation.

My mind slowly came back to full consciousness, I sniffed to detect the presence of Audrey by my side but when I could not smell her anywhere close, I started to feel annoyed t
