Chapter 89

Audrey’s POV:

Back at the dungeon, I sat down frustrated, trying relentlessly to free myself from the shackles that bound my hands and legs. I had grown really frustrated with everything that had happened; from the events with the council elders at the court and even Erik’s disturbing glances at me.

I had barely spoken much since the elders decided that I was guilty without granting me a proper trial to hear my own plea.

I was certain that there was nothing I could do to prove my innocence as they all were bent on ending me so I did not bother to put up any fight at all, I just remained calm as they dragged me back to the dungeon.

Seated there, since there was nothing I could do, I simply began to entertain the idea of an escape somehow. I started to work tirelessly to unlock the chains around my wrist first. I twisted and squeezed with the hope that my powers would return to me and shatter the metals.
