I watched her walk away. I wanted to stop her, but I couldn't move. 'Let's not talk at all, head enforcer!' Her cold words made my Lycan whimper in the back of my mind. The mate I was waiting for, the woman I almost lost hope to ever meet after a century of desperate research, didn't want to talk to me. What did I do? I never wanted to hurt her. To make her cry. Maya's POV"Hello," I called for the third time before checking again on maps. I was at the right place but the warehouse was empty. It even looked like it wasn't used in ages. I took a deep, full-of-dust breath and tried calling back the number."Well hello there!" I turned around, startled by the sudden yet familiar voice. I was pretty sure no one was around. The moment we locked eyes, my blood froze in my veins. How could I forget those dull green eyes? He had the same creepy presence I remember from our one and last encounter.
