chapter one hundred and thirty

EDWARD’S FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW

Eric has just announced our presence to the rest of the men in the building. We had to hide behind some shelves in the corridor. I could hear noises of the men coming towards the corridor in search for us as Eric described to them. They searched all over but did not think of checking behind thr shelves. We had to squeeze ourselves in between the little space between the wall and the shelves. I leaned flatly and sucked in my tummy. I had to steady my breathing so I did not make any sound at all. I could have come out of hiding but there were truly a lot of them just as Eric mentioned earlier so it would be a disaster move.

“Where are they? Or are you playing us because you do not want to remit the money you went to collect to us?” One of them said doubting Eric as they saw no sign of us.

“No, of course trust me. Here, see my mouth. They did this to me. They said they are here for the boy we brought in yesterday.” Eric said trying to convince them as
