Again Victoria seems to know and climbs back on the bed, wrapping her arms around me, pulling me in tight against her. I hear Teresa as she says to Victoria,
“Keep her calm and relaxed. The less stress, the better.”
Victoria nods to her, and she takes her leave. Victoria and I stay like that, lying in the bed just talking and getting to know each other. Griffin came in at intervals, bringing us food and then just watching over us for a while before disappearing and doing whatever it was he did.
I felt him steal Victoria away a few times over the night or day when I was sleeping. She was always back when I fully woke and smelled more prominent of him. A few weeks after Julian left to follow Skylar, my phone rang and when I picked it up, his name flashed on the screen. I answer and put it on loudspeaker.

JULIAN I could feel my connection to Skylar fading, so I didn’t need Savannah’s words of hurry to let me know that I didn’t have much time. I check the location that Savannah sent through to me from her tracking spell, quickly start my bike and speed off down the highway. SKYLARIris doesn’t answer me but nods her head in understanding. I then feel that sting of fangs and a much smaller amount of liquid in my mouth. SKYLAR Julian made a few phone calls, and it wasn’t long before someone he seemed to know turned up to drive my Berkeley back to the castle while Julian took me back on his bike. It surprised me at how good it felt to be on the bike, at how free it made me feel. Even though I had been travelling for weeks, I hadn't really realised that I had stayed so close to the castle and to Julian. It only took us a couple of days to return on the bike. Julian also made sure to test me and Iris on controlling our pheromones while in the company of others in different places and slightly different situations on the trip.
