SCARLETT

After I returned with Phoenix to the castle, both Emily and Teresa put me on bed rest so to pass the time Phoenix, Ryker and Isabelle would bring me books to read and help with some of the research into removing Silas’s bracelet. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything in them that helped.

Teresa had just given me permission to finally get back to my feet and maybe do a little light work around Father's office. I am heading to my father's office now to do something other than read dusty old books.

As I make my way down one of the halls, I smile as Phoenix walks quickly toward me. I stop as he stops in front of me. He slides his hand on my cheek, and his smile widens as he says,
