Chapter 20

Eero's perspective

"Why did you have to bring him here, Alpha?" I asked, finally breaking the silence that had been swirling between the two of us for more than thirty minutes since we got back from the greenlight forest.

"I hate him. I hate that man. He betrayed me. He was one of the few people that I trusted with all of my heart, but he broke me, and until now, I am still suffering because of him." In time, I felt a certain warmth in my eyes. Beads of tears fell.

Alpha Claudius sashayed his way towards me. He hid me in his arms. It felt as if for the first time, I finally met someone who'd burn the whole world and the people in it just because they have been cruel to me.

"You should have let him die in that forest. You should have let another rogue kill him," I said in a loud voice, but my sobs were starting to choke me.

"But he knows something about you. I know that he is telling the truth. Whatever it is, you must know. I must find it out too. That is the only reason why
