25. You Don't Know Anything

Lucy’s POV

The man put up his hand to stop everyone from laughing at me. There was something familiar about the man's face that made me think I had seen him before. I can't remember where or when, but I know I had.

“Don’t you remember me?”

"Edward, this is the first time the woman doesn't remember you at all," the other man pointed out.

I tried not to look him in the eye because this man's stares made me feel so uncomfortable.

"I thought the club was open at this time," I said as I stepped back.

"Are you looking for someone or...something?" he asked nicely, but his tone included a bit of teasing.

“Uh, I think she’s not on duty… so maybe I’ll just come back another time.” I said and turned my back at him.

But he said, “Whoa… wait…”

I took a moment to think and then told him, "I'm leaving..."

"Baby girl, I know you're leaving, but why are you so forgetful of me?"

Listening to him call me his baby girl again made my blood boil. "Don't call me that."
