Lillian's perspective.

"Lillian, you need me. I'm sure you know that."

"Cade, quit being so full of yourself." I immediately retorted, "I don't need you, so please stay away from me."

I bit my lip and stared at him. "Oh, you said you have some things you wanted to return to me. Are these paintings it? Can I have them back now?"

"Yes, sure."

"Thank you." I went to remove the painting from the wall.

However, just as I was about to make my move, a familiar voice suddenly sounded behind me, "Lillian, is that you? What are you doing here?"

I was stunned for a moment and at the same time, my scalp went numb.

Hazel? What was she doing here?

I glanced at Cade next to me and turned around awkwardly, only to find Hazel standing at the entrance of the narrow hall.

She stepped in and briefly glanced at the paintings on the wall, her eyes finally landing on Kayden. There was a hint of suspicion on her face.

"Miss Hazel, what brings you here?"
