Chapter 4: At The Club

“Don’t you think it's high time you get an apartment of your own, it's been almost a month since you arrived,” Gabriel told Hailey fixing his gaze upon her while they had lunch in his office?

Hailey had ordered the lunch for both of them to be brought to the office, they had grown fond of each other and started having lunch together and after that incident that happened previously, she preferred having her lunch in the office.

“I have king about it and I know I would have to get a place for myself soon enough, but I do not know where to start from," she told him while taking a bite off her burger.

“I could help you with that, I just need to make a few calls,” Gabriel said as he reached into his pocket for his mobile phone. “my friend Charles Henry, can help with that. He is an estate manager,” he said to her with an assuring voice, nodding his head slightly.

Charles Henry was Gabriel’s best friend. They had been childhood friends ever since elementary school. They were so close to each other that people thought they were siblings. Gabriel gives Charles a call, to inquire about any available apartment for Hailey.

Charles was on a business trip at the moment and would be back by the weekend. He assured Gabriel that he would be able to get an apartment once he was back from the trip.

“my parents would be having their fortieth-anniversary celebration this weekend, and I would love you to attend it,” Gabriel told her.

“wow! That is a long time,” she said, “but I am not sure I would make it since I have a seminar to attend,” she replied to him “but I will try my best to show up,” she said.

“Okay, if you say so,” Gabriel replied sounding a little bit disappointed. “I will talk to you later,” he said as he quietly turned and left the office.

On arriving at the hotel, Hailey noticed a roadblock with a lot of blue and red colors blaring, hearing sirens all around. It was late so she could not get a full glimpse of the incident, although she heard that it had been a werewolf attack. A young boy had been gruesomely murdered, with his limbs torn away from his body.

Incidents like that made Hailey sad because it made it more difficult for her to implement her dreams, it only gave humans more reason to eliminate werewolves.

It was Friday night, it had been a while since she took her normal night walks she decided to visit a club, she had never been to one before and the next day was a weekend.

At the club, she went up to the bar and sat next to the counter as she asked for a drink. While she was still sitting there thinking of the incident earlier and how she would end the long war between humans and werewolves, she caught the scent of some werewolves that wherein the bar. So she walked up to their table where they sat.

“hey!, may I join you guys?” Hailey asked them as she pulled out one of the seats on the table

     “yea, sure,” they replied

It was a guy and girl, they looked somewhat alike.

“Are you siblings?” Hailey asked “because you people look alike,”

“yes we are,” Stephen replied to her “I am Stephen by the way and she is Stephanie, my twin, “ he said

“Oh! that explains the resemblance,” Hailey said as she took a small sip of alcohol from her glass “I am Hailey by the way,” she further added as she stretched out her arms a little, gesturing for a handshake.

The siblings were very young, they had just turned eighteen and decided to visit a club. From Hailey’s scent, the twins already knew that she was a werewolf.

They had sat for a while without uttering a word to each other then Stephen broke the silence with a direct question to Hailey.

“Are you a werewolf?” he asked reluctantly, but His sister Stephanie immediately interrupted Hailey, just before she could answer

“Hey Stephen, that is not an appropriate question, “ Stephanie said as she fixed her glance on Stephen

“It is fine actually, “ Hailey replied “I am, just like you guys,” she further said as she reached out to their arms and grabbed them softly.

“We do not get to meet a lot of wolves out here these days,” Stephen said “most of them are even scared of coming out at all,” he said with his eyebrows lowered and pulled close together and the corner of his eyebrows angled upwards. The look of sadness filled his face.

“I am new to Manhattan, but I have come to change that,” Hailey said with an assuring voice “I am trying to first gather a pack and try to ensure coexistence between humans and werewolves,” she said with a smile

“I would love you guys to join my pack,” Hailey told them “actually I do not yet have a pack but you people would be the first,” she said trying to convince them.

The twins were lone wolves that did not have any pack at the moment, so they agreed to join Hailey.

It was already late and Hailey decided to head home, she felt happy and a bit accomplished after just getting the first members of her pack.

Since her hotel was just a few blocks from the club, she decided to walk herself home. On her way to her hotel room, she saw a young girl that was surrounded by a group of hoodlums who were about to rape her. Hailey immediately went up to save her.

As she got close by, the guys saw her be another of their victims and also tried to subdue her but she was way stronger than them as a werewolf. She beat them up and saved the young lady.
