Chapter 47 The birthday plan

Sean went into his bedroom once he made sure that Jack was in his bed. He found Natasha sitting on the bed, toying with her chain. Her solemn look distressed him.

"Hey…" He put his hand across her shoulder, sitting down next to her. "Don’t worry. Jack is a smart boy. He is clear about what he wants and what he is doing. It’s my fault. I should have bought him a phone. Johnson also has a phone."

Natasha dropped her head on his shoulder. "I know he is ambitious, and I always feel awful when I am not able to meet his demands. I didn’t even buy his favorite cake. It was so painful. But I am concerned that he will develop bad habits."

"He won’t," Sean assured her. "Stop thinking too much. He is fine, and he will be fine. Come. Let’s sleep."

He lay down, pulling her into his arms, kissing her on the brow.
