"Fuck!" Reese exclaimed as she pushed Axel away from her and sprung up, her heart beating dangerously fast against her rib cage.

She hadn’t thought of the possibility of her mom showing up at Lucy’s house before going inside with Axel.

"If you hadn’t left my house, this wouldn’t have been happening." Axel groaned, frustration clawing at his chest.

"Shut up!" Reese exclaimed as she reached for her towel and wrapped it around her body. She turned to look at him. "Get up and wear your clothes."

Before he could even reply, she rushed to the bedroom door and yanked it up.

Lucy was standing there, her expression etched with worry.

“What do we do now?" Lucy shrieked.

“Where is she?" Reese asked quickly.

"She’s still behind the door." Lucy told her.

"Has she seen you?" Reese asked quickly.

Lucy shook her head. "No, she hasn't. When she rang the doorbell, I peered through the peephole to know who it was, and that was how I knew that she was the one standing there."
