53. Give In

Zach opened the door to his study for her. This was the first time he let someone else besides Silas enter his favorite space.

"What do you want to discuss with me?" Nevea rested her butt on the L-shaped couch. Then, she lifted her feet and let them lay flatly on the couch. "It better be important because I don't want to waste my time playing."

Zach leaned on the desk, legs crossing and arms folding up his front. "You know about the mission Vlassta is talking about, don't you?"

Nevea played with the puffy pillow, averting her eyes from Zach's keen gaze. "I don't."

"You should know by now that I can tell when you lie. The truth, Nevea." He urged.

"What do you want to do if I know about it? It doesn't change anything." Of course, that was a lie, but Zach would have to be content with her reply.

"What makes you think it doesn't? Our views are polar apart."

"Drop it, Zach. I don't want to talk about it. I need to think first." She said, sounding a little more aggressive than she had
