54. Possessed

The way Nevea’s black eyes looked at her made Lola shiver in fear. What she felt right now was pure fear, one that she always felt when she fought with a strong rogue.

“Nevea?” Lola tried to call again as she stepped backward carefully. Her heart had started drumming the instant her eyes locked with Nevea’s.

“You look scared,” Nevea said. Her tone was laced with coldness.

Lola stared at Nevea as if she was another person. Lola had never seen Nevea’s eyes turn black or heard Nevea’s icy tone. It only made her fear grow even bigger to Nevea.

“Don’t blame the little innocent Nevea for all the killing. It’s me who did that, not her.” Nevea prowled toward Lola in slow motion. “Although I only did that to follow her heart, hahaha.” She laughed, then suddenly added. “Oh, I slipped. Forget about my previous words. It’s nothing.”

Lola gulped and reached for the doorknob.

“Don’t be scared. Nevea will be sad if she knows you are scared of her.”
