Episode 2

Lexa's eyes widened and tried to evade the incoming plate, but it was futile, as her sharp reflexes weren't awaken yet. The incoming plate scratched her left arm a bit, and she yelped while using her right arm to grabbed her injured left arm.

She lifted her face up, little tears were already dropping from her wee eyes, and she stared at her foster mother. If looks could kill, Camela would have been ten feet beneath the ground. She didn't know why her foster mother was this cruel, but it was killing her internally!

" How dare you stare at me like that?!"

Camela roared at Lexa and scooted towards the latter, planning to give her a hit. Camela really abhorred her foster daughter, but the reason was only known to her. Seeing Lexa everyday annoys her, but there was nothing she could do, except to make her life a hard one, cause she thought that was the best way to make herself happy

Lexa turned back and went ahead to where her chores were, leaving Camela alone on standing. But deep inside, she was foaming with fury, and her face was flushed.

" It obvious you are growing wings, as you now have the gut to walk out on me!"

She heard Camela's voice which was taunting, and she mimicked her subtly, making sure Camela won't notice her.

Getting to where her chores were, she sighed, as her eyes lazily stared at the gigantic laundry she was to do and the stinky dishes that were piled up for her. Lexa took a deep breath, wondering when all these was going to end.

It was really sickening to her! This was what she has to endure every single counting day, but it was tough for her to get used to.

Having no choice now, she proceeded to carry on with her chores

After four hours, she was done with her chores, but she felt too exhausted and just wanted to relax herself. But Camela's voice rang in her ears again, and she groaned quietly with intense frustration.

This woman will surely be the death of me! Lexa screamed in her head.

" Go and get the things I listed on this note, and you must not be long. Am giving you only ten minutes!"

Camela strolled to where Lexa was and threw a small note at the little girl, then hissed while walking away from Lexa.

" But am tired......,"

Lexa tried to protest weakily, but her foster mother was having none of it, and she ignored her like the little girl was nothing.

Having no choice again, she managed to get her ass up and went ahead to perform what Camela instructed her.

The little girl ambled to where the mini market was located, but as she was on her way, she caught sight of something that attracted her, and she halted in her steps.

Shifting her gaze to the new library at the city that was just opened, and immediately an idea popped into her head. She smiled at the thought and set her mind to visit the library as soon as possible.

Lexa continued her movements to get what Camela sent her, and when she realized she had little time left, she quickly did what she was supposed to do, so as to avoid any more trouble.

It was the next day already, with the dews visible around, and it was a pleasant sight. Lexa could be seen getting up on her bed and heading to execute her chores. She didn't want her ears to take in any more scoldings, and also she had it in her mind to check out the library, maybe it would help to solve her problem on hiding her strong scent.

She knew it was somehow weird, but anything can be possible, and you never know until you try. Lexa told herself and without hesitation, she did her chores with a strong determination.

Soon, she was done with her chores, and she took her little breakfast.

Seeing she was sort of free now, she sauntered to Camela's room but stood outside the latter's room door instead of knocking, as she was contemplating on what to do. Lexa was scared of knocking Camela's room door, cause she didn't know if her foster mother was going to complain or not.

Camela, who was in her room, actually noticed Lexa's presence around her room door due to Lexa's strong scent. She hated the fact that Lexa was having an alpha blood in her body and was the princess of a great pack, but her daughter was not.

Why? She inquired inwardly.

Lexa was no different from her daughter, so why did fate had to favour her sister and the daughter she gave birth to. As she recollected all what happened a lot time ago to her and her sister, the rage in her burned more brightly, and she gritted her teeth loudly while clenching her fists.

The title her sister held right now was supposed to be hers, and her own reign!

" Mrs. Camela, can I go out and get something uhm,"

Lexa's tiny voice climbed it's way into Camela's ears, which of course she couldn't deny, but she wasn't in a proper state.

Lexa didn't hear any reply and decided to try her luck again, " Mrs. Camela....."

" Get out!" Camela threw a thick book at the door that made a loud bang, and Lexa had to step away from the door. The former was in no mood to say anything, but her foster daughter kept talking, which irritated her, and she knitted her brows in annoyance.

The little girl couldn't understand why her foster mother acted that way, but since she didn't hear her object to what she said, she saw it as a permission and instantly dashed out of the house. Running to where the new library was situated.

Lexa ran with all her might, and it took her some minutes to arrive at her aimed place.

She made her way inside and greeted the blonde haired woman she saw, who appeared to be the librarian.

" Hello pretty one, how may I help you?"

The librarian turned to Lexa with a gentle smile and connected her fingers together while gazing at Lexa tenderly.

" Please, I need to get a book on how to hide a scent," Lexa beamed at the librarian and grinned innocently. Though, she was anxious on how the librarian will react to her words but maintained a calm face.

The librarian looked taken aback and adjusted her eyeglass, her gaze changed into a weird one. It seems she wasn't expecting that and arched her thin brows, " Excuse me?"
