Chapter 49

Summer’s POV

I wake up when someone throws a bucket of cold water over me. My captors just laughed. I don’t know whether it’s because of my reaction or my humiliation. Either way, there is nothing I can do.

I am wearing nothing but a sack and my underwear. Alexis is dormant. I started shivering from the cold. One man takes off his jumper and started drying me. “Why am I here?” I asked him while my teeth chattered.

“Someone wants to meet you, Summer. Paid a pretty penny for the meeting, too.”

“Why?” I stuttered out

“Don’t know or care. We just care about the money. They have taken it a step too far with the water, though.” He says, still trying to soak up the water.
