“Are you serious?” Emily asked and I nodded. Well, I understood that she was surprised, but she couldn’t be as surprised about this as I was.

I was telling her about what Gary told me to do, and she was looking at me with a surprised look on her face, but then, the look soon changed from being fazed to being amused, and she was smiling.

“What’s so funny?” I asked, a small frown marring my face.

“The fact that it’s something you’ve been avoiding, but you can’t avoid anymore,” she said, lifting her shoulder in a shrug.

The fact that she was laughing at me right now showed how worked up I was about this whole “work with Asher” thing, and she was supposed to be laughing with me on this, or I was. Either way, this shouldn’t bother me at all, I should see it as more opportunity to make him sweat.
