Sorah’s POV.

“Come hither, oh sacred Healer of the forgotten myth.”

No response. An electrifying shock pins me in my position as all desperate need to flee from this haunting place vacates my body and cripples me with a tremendous barrage of horrifying fear.

How…why does she know this?!

“Sacred Healer of the forgotten myth?” I shudder and refuse to regard Devon when he tentatively begins to speak. “Is this some kind of joke or something? What Healer? Sorah’s barely-“

“Watch your tongue, Devon. Do not forget the authority you’re questioning.”

The mistress is quick to caution her son and I hear him grumble with defiance just as Diana’s voice chirps next, “I concur with Devon. Even if the Healer has been birthed, it could never be the likes of Sorah. She’s too miserable and untalented.”
