Chapter 82

I woke up again when my room was still dark, it seems Alex turned off the light before he left. I stared at the hundreds of tiny phosphorous stars on my ceiling. A very, very relieved feeling welled up in my chest, I don't have to stare at that whitewashed ceiling anymore.

I glanced at the glass of water that was next to my bed, my throat felt very thirsty. With difficulty I dragged my body to the edge of the bed and then tried to move my hand to reach the glass.

But my whole body still can't coordinate properly because of the side effects of the medicine given to me, so instead of taking the glass I nudge it so that it falls to the floor.

The sound of glass hitting the floor and breaking into pieces was loud enough in the silence of this house. Shit, I thought a little frantically. Alex could definitely hear it from his room.
