Chapter Seventy-nine (Dane's POV) Present Time

I let out a low growl when the foundation of the building started to shake. This fuckers are going to ruin my fucking house! My eyes caught and held Saraya’s.

“I will be fine, baby, I promise,” she said automatically as if she could sense my hesitancy to leave her behind.

I held her gaze for about a minute more before directing my eyes to Anastasios Martas and said, “If anything happens to her, you are going to hate me.”

“I will guard them both. Go do what you must!” he retorted.

Giving Evanore a curt nod, I left the room and then started to jog down the hallway. By the time I got downstairs, my Foyer no longer had a door. “Great!” I muttered under my breath and hurried to the kitchen.

“Mrs. Brown?!” I thundered. A head popped out from under the worktable well enough to peer in my direction.

“Sir?” she croaked.

“Where is James?” I asked without delay.

“Something snatched him … he was right there..” she said in between sobs, pointing at the side wall that now had a hole in
