The real training is scary

Lyra's POV

I had gone to the Tyrex island for another day of training. Ferdinand had prepared a surprise for me. He had placed two hungry bears in the Arena.

"You started by controlling a spider, then small animals, then weak humans. Today you would be controlling those two wild bears at once. This task would be difficult because bears are wild animals with strong will. You will need to be totally focussed to control them." He said.

" Wait, you expect me to go in there on my own?" I asked.

" That is the point. Now get in. And good luck. Try not to die!" Ferdinand said casually.

I hesitated as I stepped into the training room, my heart pounded in my chest. The sound of my breath echoed in my ears as I focused on the task ahead. I closed my eyes, inhaling deeply, and then exhaled slowly. I could feel the familiar electric tingle of anticipation running through me.
