33. Work your magic
A week passed until she got to see Jamie again. Since he left rather abruptly that night, Emma didn’t have the chance to discuss so many important things with him. She didn’t expect him to disappear right after that night, and if he hadn’t assured her that he had to take care of something very important, she would have assumed he was ignoring her yet again. Moreover, Tom had also assured her that he was not trying to escape from her this time.
“He has to take care of something important, nothing you should worry about.” He said over the rim of his coffee. They were seated by the counter in the kitchen where Tom had served her breakfast. Thank god for his cooking skills, she thought as she bit into the sandwich he made her.
“Well, as long as he’s not ignoring me, I’m cool.”
