52. A cruel reality
Temporarily, it felt as though Jamie’s brain couldn’t function.
The biggest truth of his life was lying in front of him, glaring at him in an obvious sense, yet he couldn’t wrap his head around it. Simply, he didn’t have the courage to believe it. He wasn’t ready to accept the truth, but deep down, he knew that that was the reality.
The papers he held in his trembling hands gave him the answer to the question that was haunting him for days. He spent countless nights wondering who Blake was, and the answer came to him finally. Emma watched her reflection in the mirror with contentment. She was wearing a knee length white dress with hand-embroidery adorned with pearls on the hems. She decided to let her hair loose, the way Jamie preferred it, and only curled the very ends of it.
