He stared blankly at me for a second and I almost regretted that I asked him maybe he thought I had forgotten my place but then he nodded, “not even Natalie”

He looked around the room before taking his leave.

Once I was alone in the King's room I looked around me in disbelief, this was not my plan at all, I had hoped that I would be far from the palace by now if not because of Lock’s suggestion. I still despised how the king made me feel but my priority was that he was fine now.

I held my hand to my belly. I knew that even though things were seeming rosy right now I had to remember that the king had a mate he had marked himself and my position here would be threatened no matter how I tried to hide it.
