45: A case of a witch

"Ill do it," I quickly said. I had no idea what I ought to do but I didn't know what else to say.

Without wasting time, the crying wife handed the child to me. i took the baby and swallowed hard.

"Step back everyone."

They did just as I instructed.

I stared at the child in my hands that had gone cold, I closed my eyes tight, all of a sudden, it felt like I was one with the child.

I felt a sudden tinge I couldn't explain, almost as if my breath was gone, I struggled to catch my breath, all the air around me stiffening.

As soon as I let out a loud gasp, it felt like all the air had rushed back into my lungs.

I flinched as the child in my arms suddenly began to wail.

The mother took the baby from me in a breeze.

"What did I do?" I said in a low tone.

"Thank you!" The mother of the child cried out loud, "you saved my child's life! Thank you so much!"
