Chapter 41

Lorraine dutifully closed her eyes, but as she did so, she let out a deep, weary sigh that echoed through the cave. After that, she remained completely silent, her ears straining to pick up any sound that might give her a clue as to what was going on around her.

All of a sudden, the creatures began to growl and snarl, and the sound of their movements intensified. Lorraine could sense their presence moving around the cave, but without her vision, she couldn't determine exactly how they were navigating their environment.

The noises seemed to come from different directions, and the irregularity of their movements made it impossible to predict where they would appear next.

"I'll tell her," the mischievous voice of the second creature suddenly said.

"No, I'll tell her." The third creature objected immediately.

"No, I'll tell her."

"No. I'll be the one to tell her."
