chapter 6

I couldn't hold it in anymore, the place I had known to be home and my relatives were letting me go without even a little word of encouragement.

"Raven?" She was the one who let out a loud cry and wasted no time hugging me to comfort me.

"Do you really have to go?" Her red eyes gazed at me with so much attention and care.

"Yes, I don't want anyone else getting hurt." I sniffed, trying to hold back my tears.

"Xena please…" she cried even more,

"Your Dad wouldn't have wanted this." She sniffed, her trailing tears continuing to wet her already damp cheek.

"Dad is gone." I let the tears slip out from my eyes as I hugged her more tightly than before.

"Who would be with me when you're gone, who would I plan crazy stunts with who…"

"Enough of this nonsense! You're delaying the to be Alpha of Crystal claw pack from taking his bride home." Alpha Demetri raged and immediately ordered his guards to drag raven out of the pack house.

"No, let her be." His calm majestic voice spoke again.

"What do you mean?" Alpha Demetri asked with a frown on his face.

He was clearly angry because his orders had not been carried out today because of Alpha Vixen and his son.

"Very well."Alpha Demetri glanced and nodded at his guards which meant they should let us have our moment.

In no time, the guards left Raven and she hugged me again. I was her best friend and the fact that I was leaving will never make our friendship circle complete again.

"It's alright Raven," Jace came to Raven's side to comfort her and I could see Tessa's face burning with envy from the other side of the room.

"Take care of Jace, she's the only thing close to my family." I whispered in the circle we had formed before letting go of Raven's hands.

"No! Jace let me go, she's not going to go anywhere, she may…" the guards hit her hard on her head and she passed out in Jace's arms.

"I don't have time for this nonsense. Logan, take her away!" Alpha vixen yelled in anger and the man who I suspected to be a young beta, grabbed me and carried me in his shoulder.

"Raven, Jace!" I yelled in agony, kicking the air as I was dropped at the back of the car where Alpha Zain soon joined me.

"What do you want from me?" I folded my arm across my chest and I didn't dare look at his face as I questioned him.

Sweat dripped down my face and my hair which was nicely done had now turned into pure mess. Even the  makeup I was wearing made my face look horrible because my tears had washed it away.

"Why did you have to agree to this?" I asked after he refused to answer my question.

"I didn't agree to this. I have much better things to worry about." He answered, his tone void of any emotions.

I gazed at him through my side view and I couldn't help but gaped at the man who sat beside me.

At the Packhouse, I had only a glance at him and wasn't able to get a full picture of his being but now, I could see his muscular structure and his strong looking shoulders.

"He's handsome, you'll see it if you just look at him." My wolf spoke to me but I wasn't having it.

I had no right to be happy, I had just lost my dad, my friend, raven was left in a critical condition, two men who weren't my mate were already lusting after me and worse of all, it seemed like my said mate had no interest in me.

Well it didn't matter because I didn't have any interest in him. I couldn't deny the fact that he was handsome, nor could I deny the fact that he gave me a little time to spend with my dear friend. But all those didn't catch my fancy towards him.

I had always imagined myself meeting my mate in a more romantic scene.

Where we both went for a forest run and our scent called out to each other. Where we would see each other and tell Mate, taking in our scent like our life depended on it.

I imagined a wedding, not so grand but where Raven would be my only bride's maid and my mate would be with his own friends.

Where my dad would walk me down the altar and my stepmother and her daughter as always would burn of pure jealousy.

But I just came to realise that imagination doesn't always happen as we want it to. First, my dad was dead. Secondly, I didn't get married in a romantic scene but rather in the most horrible scene ever.

The way I imagined my stepmother and stepsister's face was the exact opposite.

I sighed in disappointment and the man beside me didn't even bother to ask me what happened.

"My father says he has organised a Mating ceremony for us where I'll have to introduce you to the pack as their Luna. So once you get home, make sure you get enough rest. Tomorrow will be another stressful day for you."

"Why couldn't you just tell me when we got to Crystal claw pack?" He spoke and I kept silent also.

I had observed Zain was a man of few words and he hardly ever spoke to anyone.

Soon afterwards, the silent environment made my eyes become heavy and my head spinned like crazy due to all the crying and torment I had faced. I didn't know when I slept off inside the Car.

"Wake up!" Zain's melodious voice spoke as his hands gently pats me to wake up.

"Dad, just five minutes please…" I snored and my eyes snapped open the moment I felt myself in someone's arms.

"Dad?" I opened my eyes to see myself in Zain's arms. His cold expression remained unfazed and I couldn't stop myself from reaching out to touch his chest.

"Good, you're awake." His voice sounded so straight, you wouldn't be able to depict any emotions from his voice.

"Yes thank you, can you drop me down now?" I gazed at him and the next thing I knew, I dropped my butthard on the floor.

"Jenna would take you to your room." He didn't spare me another glance before moving ahead.
