chapter 7

Alpha Zain's pov

I wasn't happy with everything that was going on. My father Alpha Vixen made me take a bride from the Blood-moon pack in order to settle the upcoming war he had with them.

For him, a good woman would buy his heart any day and anytime.

I hadn't seen her before but the moment I set my eyes on her, my wolf howled in excitement.

She was like an angel. Her pale milky skin went with her ginger brown hair and hazel hers. She wasn't smiling but I could tell she would look like an angel if she did because even her anger made her look as cute as a teddy bear.

She was wearing a white gown which revealed her curves and her Cleavage. I observed how most of them looked at her, some with admiration, some lust and others with anger and it took everything in me not to rip out their eyeballs from its socket.

I recalled earlier when I had told my father that I would never fall in love with the lady he would get me but that eventually changed when I got to see her for real.

"I can't fall in love with her, I can't go back on my words." I spoke to myself even when I knew that treating her badly like I just did a while ago shattered me to pieces.

I had to do only one thing to avoid this, I would have to reject her as my mate. Only then would I be able to make my father believe that I didn't like this masterpiece the moon Goddess structured for me.

I had arrived at my room and had shot the door upon my arrival and was pouring myself a glass of whisky when my dad's voice made me drop the glass in my hand.

"Dad!" I yelled, gazing at the glass which had just shattered into tiny bits in the floor.

"You weren't focused. What if I had been an enemy?" Dad had a glass of red wine with him and he was sipping it slowly.

"Were you so lost in thought about the things you want to do to that hot chick that you couldn't even sense my presence?"

"Father, it's not what you think. I don't like her, I don't want you to think I do." I moved to get another wine glass from the cabinet, wiping it with a clean hanky before pouring whisky again.

"So you want to tell me that nothing in that lady strikes fire in you?" Father sat down on the wooden chair in the room, crossing his legs over each other as he repeatedly gazed at me for answers.

"She's a nice woman, dad." I commented and my dad's raised brow turned into a puzzled face.

"Just nice?" He stood up from the chair he was sitting on.

From his tone, you could tell that he was offended by my comment about the girl.

"I saw the way you dumped her on the floor son, that wasn't a good move. She's perfect, don't forget you can do anything you want with her." He raised his brow and I noted.

"Tomorrow is your mating ceremony, you have to look happy to the pack even when you're not." Father warned and I nodded.

"Are you lusting after her?" Father was about to open the door but my question made him pause.

"She's yours son, all yours." He spoke but the grin on his face told me otherwise.

Like I said, dad was a lover of women. No wonder his marriage with mom didn't last, he would often take other women to his chambers and have pleasure with them which made mom run away but he was my father and I wouldn't let that stop me from loving him.

I sat down on the my bed and smiles formed on my lips as my mind diverted to lady who had been given to me as I mate

"Ugh, I didn't get her name." I groaned in anger and the knock on my door distracted me.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It's me Logan, your beta."

"I know that, come in." I spoke and he opened the door, coming to stand close to me.

"Your new bribe I must say is stunning." He commented and I cleared my throat to bring him back to his senses.

"I don't like him!" My wolf yelled and I had to beg my wolf to calm down so he wouldn't do anything stupid.

"Why did you say so?" I asked and he gulped before replying.

"She's perfect." He replied and I chuckled loudly.

"Why do you all say that?" I asked and Logan did reply.

"I ask you again, why do you say that?" I raised my tone. I clearly saw it at Blood-moon pack. The way he and my father were gazing at what belonged to me.

"Don't get angry young alpha I…"

"I'm not angry, just stressed." I replied in a much calmer voice.

"It's okay to be stressed. It's not easy going through such stress. But it was worth it." He winked at me before leaving the room.

"I don't like the way they look at what's ours." My wolf alarmed me.

"She's not ours." I reminded him but my wolf growled angrily.

"She's ours the sooner you accept it, the better." He threatened me.

"Well let's see who owns me." I threatened back before lying back on my bed.

I wasn't going to let my wolf be an obstacle. I knew fighting with my wolf was like fighting with one's spirit but I was willing to give it a chance.

Tomorrow will be the day I would know if I could really resist the woman who is meant to be my Luna.

"Young Alpha, your dinner is served and Your father demands you to proceed to the dinning room where you'll have dinner with him and your to be Luna." The guard spoke from the other side of the door.

"I'm not hungry…"

"Sure you are. You just aren't bold enough to face her. You and I know you're in love with her. Just admit it, you want her." My wolf tried to convince me.

"I don't!"

"Sorry Alpha, I didn't get that." The guard spoke, still waiting for my reply.

"You had better go out to that dinning room and have a good chat with her because if you don't, someone else might take her away from you."

"No!"

"Tell the Alpha that I'll be right over." I told the guard before signing in frustration.

"Good. Just get dressed and then you can go." My wolf was the worst. If he wants something, he'll do all he wants to get it."

"Fine I grumbled." As I got dressed to go to the dinning where my father and my soon to be Luna were waiting for me.

"Dad? What's going on here?" I asked when I got to the table.

"Nothing son." His hands quickly left that of my bride.

I noticed how tense she was from the way she sat and I could tell she sighed in relief when she saw me.

"Good evening Alpha." She greeted me with a hoarse voice like she had been crying.

"Good evening to you." I replied, taking my seat which was far away from her.

I gazed at my dad and he grinned with the expression that says he's gonna take her away from me.

"Son, I was just telling your Luna about the ceremony tomorrow and she seemed to like it."

"Is that so?" I cut through the chicken that was placed in front of me as I listened to my father.

"Yes, I told her I had gotten everything ready." He smiled again, gulping down the wine in his possession.

"That's good of you dad, I know she would feel welcome with your help." My eyes were still on my plate when the constant coughing coming from her caught my attention.

"What's wrong?" I asked when I had reached her side.

"Water…" she croaked. Her eyes were already red and he kept on hitting her chest rapidly.

"Here, have this." My hand brushed hers and I felt my wolf ready to jump out any moment from now.

"Did you see that, how did it feel when her hands grazed yours."

"Shut up!" I spoke inwardly to silence his ranting.

"Are you fine now?" I asked when she had drank the water and she nodded.

"I'll be going to my room now." She took an excuse before leaving us at the table.

"You said you Don't feel anything for her, why then did you offer to save her life?" Dad asked with a raised brow.

"Do you want it to be heard that your son's to be Luna died on the night before her ceremony?"

"I guess you have a point there." He chuckled darkly but in his eyes I could see the lust he had for her linger.
