CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

"It's so funny how I am not in the least bit worried. Are you?" I said to Emily.

We had been walking for quite sometime, going in the direction we thought we could find a gem. We had said nothing the entire time until I spoke.

"How about you keep quiet and let me concentrate" she replied stiffly.

My gaze went to her and I watched her body language, she was...trying too hard. I didn't want to worry but her actions were worrying me. I said nothing after that.

It wasn't long before the smell of Alphas hit me and quickly stopped.

I placed a hand on her shoulder and sighed, letting her know someone new was not too far from where we were. She nodded in acknowledgement.

We became stealthier as we moved admist the trees and the wet ground. The smell of petichor helped camouflage us from them, but it couldn't hide them from me.

We moved closer and hid under some bushes and watched them. I looked around and only saw four wolves guarding their gem, nobody else was there.
